Carrying Your Baby in Style with Baby Slings
Now that you have given birth, you may not want to leave your baby with a nanny. However, you’re not keen on bringing that bulky baby buggy with you to the store or anywhere else. If you’re one of those types, then a baby sling would be a great addition to you and your baby’s ensemble.
Today, an increasing number of mums (and dads) are wearing this versatile piece of cloth for modern baby wearing. These baby slings or baby pouches are made of durable fabrics designed for you to carry your baby as close to your body as possible. These slings go well with nursing tops where mums can breastfeed their babies with ease.
Regular baby slings are a variation of baby pouches that comes without metal rings. These tubular fabrics are either made of sturdy denim or other fabric that can support the weight of a baby. This is worn like a sash and woven around the upper torso of the parent. The child is then placed inside the pouch. These baby pouches can be adjusted through snaps, zippers, or Velcro and can be tied in different ways.
These slings are available in different sizes and colours, and can match nursing tops of all colours and styles. Mums can carry little ones and hold them close even without the use of hands. This is a good way for mums and their babies to bond during their early years.

Kangaroo style
The baby is carried facing outward and it is similar to how a kangaroo carries a joey inside its pouch. The baby sits securely inside the pouch and can be held hands-free.
Cradle Style
This carrying style is perfect for newborn babies whose neck muscles are not yet strong enough to support their weight. The baby lies inside the sling and it is great for facilitating breastfeeding.
Mums should take a measurement of the distance between their shoulders to their waist so that they can order or purchase the correct size and garment for the pouch. Different sizes are available and can be matched to any nursing tops that they wear.
If you think that regular baby pouches are not for you, then ring slings are great alternatives. These types of slings come with metal or durable plastic rings that are used to weave the fabric around the parents’ bodies. Mums and dads can use this sling to carry their baby wherever they go. They can carry a baby kangaroo style or, as an alternative, on the hips for easier carriage. These types of slings are available in many colours and prints.
Babies cry less when they are carried, that’s why baby slings are very helpful in this. They are also more alert and become more familiar with the parents who are carrying them. Also, this is a great alternative to using the prams and buggies, and parents would feel more secure when they carry their babies with them everywhere they go.
