Electrical “Safety” outlet keeps trippin to the off position…………………………………………..?
Let me pick your electrician brain. The electrical socket out in the garage has a “safety” trip switch on it. Freezer is hooked up to it. Freezer is about 18 months old. Recently, the switch keeps tripping to the off position. I go to reset it, and immediately, it trips again. Works fine in the other outlet close by (unfortunately, had to unplug the water softener to make THAT happen). Defect in the outlet? Freezer works fine. Or do you think something else may be going on?
You may have a short in the outlet. I have an outlet like that too. Even though I have multiple outlets in my kitchen there are 2 breaker switches that controls some and another switch that controls the others…they are on the same wall. Have an electrician check it for you.
That’s the best advise I can give you. I’m not an electrician though so don’t go by me. LOL.
