I want to buy a digital ear thermometer for my 3 1/2 year old daughters.see details?
I already have one of OMRON brand but i feel its not accurate as temp varies alot if i chk two consecutive times.
Anyways… i need to know about the brand people are using most and are satisfied.

The brand doesn’t matter. Tympanic thermometers are all very accurate if they are used properly. The problem is that most people just stick them in the ear and wait for a reading. There’s a specific method that you have to use. For children, you need to pull the ear back slightly and down. This needs to be done gently, so as not to hurt the child. The thermometer reads the tympanic membrane, so when you insert the thermometer, make sure the tip is angled towards the child’s face… not perpendicular to it. Try this method and see if you get the same reading twice. If you do, you are taking the temp effectively, if not, then you still haven’t go the hang of it (it takes practice)! If you can’t get the hang of it, then just get a digital thermometer and take it under the arm, just make sure you add one degree to the reading. It’s accurate enough that we use it at the hospital, so it’s certainly accurate enough for you to use at home!
