Toddler Ingenuity: Taping The Child To The Furniture
“Hey Momma, come find what I just did for you?” I don’t know about you, but when I hear these words come out my 3-year-old’s mouth, I painstakingly camouflage my cringe as I “joyfully” respond, “No, Sweetie, what did you manage this time?” Her response: “I used some tape on the changing table for you!”
I did think something appeared off before. There was a line of tape that extended down the center of our Davinci Kalani changer and didn’t think too much of it. So, I questioned Sarah why she had determined to put some tape on her baby brother’s changing table. Without skipping a step, Sarah proudly explained, “So he will stick to it and not fall off.” I loved to laugh, but I was scared of bruising her feelings. Instead, I passed Sarah a large smile as I thanked my adorable little girl for her very thoughtful idea. I know better then punish my youngsters whenever they are just trying to help out.
As it sank in, I really did become more grateful, since I had lately complained about Baby Bruce’s constant wiggling during nappy changes.
