My 17 month old is tall enough to reach the oven door. What can I do to protect her….?
….I haven’t been able to find any latches that can be placed on the door to prevent her from opening it when it is on. She is very curious about what is in the oven and I have been trying to explain to her that she could get burned but needless to say, at her age I don’t know that she understands. Does anyone have something that worked for them? I have a glass top range with cabinets/counters on either side. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
you watch her when the oven is on
you repetitively say “NO, do not touch, HOT”
and pull her away
repeat as needed
if that doesnt work within 2 weeks
you gently swat her diapered bottom and say ” No”
and again pull her away
repeat as needed
