I have wired a new light fixture (3 wires) into an old home (run on 2 wires). To what do I attach the earth?
Should I mask it over and store the earth wire in the junction box? Or should I secure it to the metal bracket that supports the new light fixture? This bracket has a green screw labelled E, but obviously it also makes contacts with gyprock and is not covered.
The earth is also called a ground. if you can just hook it to a screw in the junction box or cut it off it will have no effect due to your 2 wire wiring.
