When should the baby have his head down?
I went to the doctor yesterday and she told me that she wasnt sure if the babies head was down or not. I am 34 weeks. I was just wondering why his head would need to be down this soon? Also why would he stay in that possition for the next 6 weeks? Wouldnt he still be moving around?
All babies are different. Some settle head down at 28 weeks and stay there. Some stay breech up until almost delivery and then suddenly turn right before labor. Some flip back and forth regularly and they might need to scan you in early labor to determine if baby is vertex. Generally speaking though if your baby goes head down between 30-34 weeks and has been that way at several visits, odds are they will probably stay that way.
The later in pregnancy it gets, the harder it is to flip, but it isn’t impossible. If a baby is breech, baby can be manually turned by the physician, called an external version.
