Are the Temporal Artery Thermometers safe?
Is there anything harmful from the use of this thermometer that scans to check my babies temperature? I was just looking at it and wondering how the heck it works and what it uses to get the temp?

Very safe, but they do take some getting used to. When I was with my daughter in the hospital for jaundice right after birth it’s what the nurses used all the time. The way they did it was to scan the forehead from one side of the temple to the other while holding the ‘scan’ button down. I can do 3 of these and typically get very accurate.
The anal is still the most accurate, but I do like these and it helped me immensely the first year when I would want to keep an eye on her fever but didn’t want to be poking her every hour or so.
