Your baby’s nursery is the one of the first places your baby receive sensory signals and will spend almost the entire first couple of months between sleeping and quiet alertness. You can make baby’s nursery a calm and soothing environment while still offering stimulus to help her brain grow and develop. Use these five steps and your baby’s nursery will be worthwhile.
Tip 1: Finding Your Inner Serenity
Your baby’s nursery theme should be of a calm and serene nature. Babies thrive in quiet, serene environments allowing them to be relaxed and observe the world aroun them. When choosong colours, use ones that create a tranquil environment, such as cool greens, browns and blues. Also, consider other pastels, like purples, pinks and mauves for the desired effect.
Tip 2: Consideration of the Sex of Your Child
In knowing the sex of your baby, think of the images that you imagine will influence your child. Most people still gravitate to blue for boys and pink for girls, baby bedding sets are designed with baby chic in mind. To avoid repainting and decorating your baby’s nursery as they transition into toddlerhood, you can choose a theme and that will transition well. If you are decorating with a baby animal jungle theme, then paint your walls a gentle green or brown as it shifts to a different theme better than themed wallpaper or murals.
Tip 5: Consider Accessories Carefully
Accessories in your nursery should be considered carefully, so as to not become a hazzard when your baby is mobile and curious. Instead of using accessories that fit the theme, try using functional accessories in a colour or pattern that goes with your theme. This could include a wall mounted nappy holder, a lotion dispenser postitioned above the change table or a toy box which will grow with your child.
